Liberty Collection Cards with Andrea Shell

Hello! It's Andrea Shell from blissfullyscrappy.net with you today. I had the pleasure of creating with the Liberty Collection recently and have two cards to share with you.  This collection is lots of fun and pairs perfectly with the previously-released Sunday Drive Etched Dies.

For my first card, I stayed true to the theme of the collection and created a fun, patriotic card. From colored, metallic, and foil cardstocks, I die-cut the various elements with the Liberty Sunday Drive and Sunday Drive Die sets. I adhered all of the pieces together with liquid adhesive.

To create that festive background, I started by inking up a 5"x7" panel of cardstock with the following colors of Distress Oxide: Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot.  I then placed a fireworks stencil over the panel and applied a layer of Silver Glitz Glitter Gel.

The new Color Block Panel Die is perfect for creating a road for the car.  After cutting the road from gray cardstock, I trimmed the sides to 5" and added Black Soot Distress Oxide.  I adhered the road to my background, which I attached to a card with double-sided adhesive, and affixed the assembled car on top with foam squares.

For my second project, I thought it would be fun to use the Liberty Sunday Drive Dies in an unexpected way. To create my girl, I used Uncle Sam's jacket for the pink top and Lady Liberty's hair for the brown hair. I die-cut the car elements from colored and metallic cardstocks with the Sunday Drive Dies. I adhered everything together with liquid adhesive.

I created that sunny background with the Sun Burst Stencil and Mustard Seed Distress Ink and added splatters of white paint for interest. I die-cut the grass pieces with the Picture Perfect Window Scene Dies and the road with the Color Block Panel Die, adding dye inks to both for depth.  I attached the road and grass pieces to my background, which I adhered to a white card.

My main sentiment is from the Make a Scene Bold Greetings Dies.  I die-cut it from glitter cardstock and attached it with liquid adhesive.  Because the trunk on the car lifts, I thought it would be fun to have a hidden sentiment. This sentiment is from the Sunday Drive All-Occasion Sentiments stamp set. After stamping it onto white cardstock, I trimmed it with scissors and adhered it behind the car, aligning the phrase with the opening for the trunk.  Finally, I attached the car to my card with foam squares.  I think this would be a great card to give someone heading off to college or to start a new job.
