Adding Interest to Backgrounds

Hello there, Michelle here sharing a card using the new Perforation Cover Plate. This die can be used in so many different ways, but for today, I thought I would use it add interest to a background. I think it is perfect for adding just that extra touch!

I started off my card by die cutting the Perforation Cover Plate from Deluxe Smooth White cardstock. There are perforations around the whole outside edge of the die, but I ended up cutting them off, as I thought it would work better for the design of my card. This meant that my card was just slightly smaller than A2 in size.

I added ink blending to the panel with Aquatic, Kiwi and Paradise Core Inks, applying the inks with Large Blending Brushes. I then splattared White Iridescent Shimmer Mist on top and set it aside to dry.

I stamped the floral image from the Sweet As Honey stamp set onto Classic Vellum Layering Paper using Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. It was then die cut using the coordinating die. While stamping, I also stamped the 'happy birthday' sentiment from Message Strips Stamp & Cut XL onto Pitch Black cardstock and heat embossed.

It was cut into a strip using the coordinating die. I adhered the Perforation Cover Plate panel onto a panel of Deluxe Smooth White cardstock using tape runner adhesive. I then added small dabs of Precision Glue behind the vellum piece where the embossing is at its thickest.

I placed it onto the panel and then wrapped the excess around the back and secured with tape before adhering to a card base. I adhered the sentiment strip with foam tape and then to finish, embellished with Clear Enamel Dots.

I love that you can still see the perforation lines through the vellum, so that you get the full effect of the pattern in the background. Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you have a wonderful day!
