Celebrating Unity

Welcome! Today we are celebrating unity and highlighting products from our Unity Collection. At the same time, we are also honoring artists and showing support for one another. To get started, first enjoy this beautiful card from Creative Team member Ilina, then scroll on down to learn about a special hop we're hosting today...

Hi everyone! Ilina here. For my card today I am using some new products from the Unity Collection -- the American Women woodblock stamp and the Empowerment clear stamp set.

To make the card, start by stamping the image on Dove White cardstock using Intens-ified Black ink. Color with alcohol-based markers (or other coloring medium of your choice) and fussy cut it. Set aside.

Cut a piece of Pesto cardstock measuring 5 1/4" x 1 3/4" and stamp the sentiment from the Empowerment set using Embossing and Watermark ink and emboss with Detail White embossing power. Stamp Confetti Bold Prints using Embossing and Watermark ink. Set aside.

Cut a thin strip from Pitch Black cardstock and a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Dove White cardstock. Adhere the Pesto cardstock piece and black strip to the Dove White panel. Trim any excess from the black strip. Using foam adhesive, adhere the image.

To finish the card, adhere the panel using craft foam to a Dove White Side Folded note card.

If you'd like to see more inspiration from the Unity Collection, be sure to head over to our Instagram account (@heroarts) where we're hosting a hop!

We're honored and thrilled to be joined by wonderfully talented guest artists as well as members of our Creative Team. While the inspiration for this hop began with honoring Black History, it morphed into a celebration of friendship and unity. As the quote above from our Empowerment set reads, "When we support each other incredible things happen"! We also feel that Black History is American History, and should be celebrated throughout the year. In that spirit, next month we will begin a monthly feature, sharing artwork from a different Black artist we'd love for you to get to know. So mark your calendars for the first post on March 16, and watch this space!

Awesome card Ilina and also a awesome stamp!
Thank you so much for sharing, stay safe and have a wonderful weekend.

Henriëtte M.,

I enjoy seeing the diversity of ideas. Have you considered asking Native American artists to contribute? Their styles vary from tribe to tribe and from one region to another.

It can be something as simple as a pocket or something more intricate like a waterfall mechanism or flips. Today, we are going to focus on one of those simple techniques - a pocket!  It’s the perfect technique to dip your toes into the interactive...
