Creating a Garden Scene

Hello to you. Thank you for joining us here on the Hero Arts blog today! We are talking about creating garden scenes. Let's get to it!

Combining stamps sets is a fun way to build a scene exactly the way you envision it. I'm featuring the Trellis Fancy Die along with mushrooms from Woodland Tea Party, leaves from Color Layering Rose and a sentiment from You Are My Happy.

I created this dreamy background with watercolor brush markers on Smooth Bristol paper. Simply scribble on a few colors and then go over them with clean clear water and a brush to loosen up the color. Set aside to dry naturally for the most pigment movement.

I die cut the Trellis from the chocolate woodgrain paper included in the February 2018 My Monthly Hero kit (which is still available!). I stamped the Woodland Tea Party mushrooms and Color Layering Rose leaves in water friendly Intense Black ink on Smooth Bristol and also colored them with the watercolor brush markers.

After completely drying, I die cut both the leaves and the mushrooms with their coordinating sets.

To assemble the card I adhered most elements relatively flat with liquid glue. First, a couple of mushrooms and leaves went down. Then, the Trellis. The items behind were not only a fun peek through element, but also provided a bit of lift for the trellis in the gate area. There is no adhesive there to allow for a bit of motion.

After tucking in the last of the leaves (popping the top with dimensional adhesive) and mushroom, I shaped an otherwise straight sentiment into an arch to match the Trellis. "Love You More," from You Are My Happy, makes a perfect sentiment for Mother's Day. I cannot even fathom the amount of times that has been exchanged between myself and my little people. *All the feels!*

Pop back in again soon for more from the team here at Hero Arts and if you're creating with your new April My Monthly Hero kit, tag us on social media! We'd love to see what you are up to!
