February My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #3 + Giveaway

Hello and welcome as we continue the countdown to the release of the February My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Monday, February 4th at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. We will be here for the rest of the weekend, sharing inspiration before the launch. Now let's join Emily for another look at this fabulous kit.

Good morning! Emily Midgett here with you this morning to share some more inspiration using this super fun new Roaring 20's themed My Monthly Hero kit! This month's kit features a stamp set (packed full with fun images) and a beautiful cover plate die that you've already seen in the first sneak peek! Black and gold are quite indicative of the 1920's, so I kept my color palette simple today, using some of the fun stamps in the main set and that gorgeous Art Deco die! Let's get started with the details.

I began by heat embossing the sentiment from the new February My Monthly Hero stamp set and that super swanky car using gold glitter embossing powder onto some black card stock. The images in this month's kit are nicely sized and are super fun to color!

Next, I die cut that gorgeously detailed cover plate die using black card stock. I wanted to show how beautifully detailed this die cut was, so I grabbed a white A2 card base. I wanted to highlight that super cool car, so I added some sticky notes along the bottom to use for masking, then blended some Dandelion ink approximately where I would place the car to create a spotlight for the car.

After blending the yellow ink on the card base, I adhered the black die cut using liquid adhesive, then added the die cut car and sentiment square using dimensional foam adhesive. I also added a few of the confetti sequins that are included in the kit!

Well, that's all for me today! Now, I have some fun giveaway information for you:

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, February 4, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

What a great man card and I can use all the help I can get with man cards! This set will be perfect!

Sheri D,

I love this so much, reminds me of an Agatha Christy book.

Jackie A,

Very nice – the pop of color was a great idea.

Shannon,

Oh my goodness the car is awesome, I love the vintage feel of this card. Thank u for such a great card and idea I love it!

Leslie Pierson,

The black and gold look so beautiful and elegant. Loving that die, I think that would make an amazing stencil as well if cut through acetate.
What an amazing and different looking kit!
