March My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #1 + Giveaway

Hello and welcome as we begin the countdown to the release of the March My Monthly Hero kit! Release day is Monday, March 6 at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. We’ll be here for the next three days, sharing ideas for using both the main kit, as well as new optional add-on products that will be available on Monday. And don’t forget to comment on each and every post as we’ll be giving away a kit on Monday morning, before the kit launches! In this post Jess shares the first look at this fantastic kit!

The My Monthly Hero kit for March has so many different and GREAT options for card-giving occasions! I’m sharing a card meant to encourage or support someone.

I started by die-cutting the paper layering die that comes with the kit to create my garden rows. Then I mixed a red and green shade from the dot palette to create a shade of brown to watercolor my die. I deliberately tried to keep it a little darker towards the top left of the die and fade it out across the die. Next I stamped the veggies and the adorable bunny from the kit with Versafine and heat-embossed them with superfine clear embossing powder before loosely watercoloring them with the dot palette. Once they were totally dry I used the coordinating dies to die-cut all of the images.

Then I tucked the bunny and the veggies into the paper layering die to create my garden scene. I stamped the sentiment from one of the add-on kits onto the bottom of my card base and then attached the garden with foam mounting tape. I also added a double layer of foam mounting tape behind the bunny’s body to pop him up a little further! He’s so earnest looking as he tends his garden…I just love him!
