Welcome to Day 2 of our Countdown to Creativity, leading up to the launch of our October My Monthly Hero kit on Monday, October 3rd at 1pm eastern! In this post, Mariana is showing how you can combine one of the optional add-ons with the main kit.
Snow globes are such a fun way to portray Christmas scenes. The October My Monthly Hero main kit along with the add-on products are all about building your very own Snow globes shaker cards. The stamps and die cuts are fabulous, and I am sure you are going to get in the mood of making lots of cards.
My card features some of the products from the main kit as well as two of the add-ons products. I began by creating two Snow Layering panels. I used one of them to make a “bokeh” background using Summer Sky, Orchid and White inks. I die cut the globe shaped window from the other Snow Layering Panel, and I complemented it with a silver base shape. I stamped a sentiment with Intense Black ink right below the base. I also die cut a foam panel with the snow globe shape to add dimension (this is important for the shaker part).
I used the Skyline Fancy dies to create a double layer scene over the background. I paired the sight with a stamped Santa sleigh. Then, I proceeded to assemble my shaker card as follows: card base, background panel with skyline scene, foam panel, sequins, acetate, front panel. I used blue gemstones and silver cord as the final touches for my card.
