October My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #5 + Giveaway!

Hello and welcome as we continue the countdown to the release of the October My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Monday, October 1st at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. Stay tuned for more inspiration later today! Now let's join Ilina for another look at this Christmas and Winter inspired kit.

I am not sure about you, but Christmas season is my favorite when it comes to crafting. So, with no doubt I am totally in love with the new Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit. The possibilities are limitless with all the images included in the kit. For my card today I decided to build a little scene using a few of the images included in the kit.

To make the card I started by stamping the images I wanted to use onto Alcohol Marker friendly white card stock and Intense Black ink. I colored them with Copics and die cut them using the coordinating dies. I added some details using White Gel pen and the new Iridescent Ink (included in the kit). Set them aside to dry.

To make my background I created a mask for the snow and added to a white panel measuring 4" x 5 1/2", then ink blended the "sky" using Dusty Blue and Soft Sky Shadow inks. I added some Iridescent Ink using a paint brush onto the bottom to resemble snow.

Once the panel was dry I arranged my images and adhered using foam adhesive to add a little dimension. Next I stamped the sentiment with Versamark onto Black card stock and embossed with PW110 white embossing powder, trimmed and adhered to my panel.

To finish off the card I adhered my panel using fun foam to a red note card.

Thank you so much for joining me today and hope you are inspired to do something creative!

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, October 1, before the kit launches at 1 pm Eastern. Hello there, Michelle Short here to share a step-by-step tutorial using the Snowflake Background Etched Dies from the Lisa Horton Snowflake Kisses Collection.
