Stamping Repeating Images for Backgrounds

Hello there, Michelle here and today I have a card to share with you using the Life Is Beautiful set. This is a really pretty set with lots of small floral images in (as well as sentiments) that you can use in lots of different ways. One way that I like to use sets like these is to create backgrounds.

Thinking of You by Michelle Short for Hero Arts

I started off my card by taking a panel of Dove White Cardstock (4.25" x 5.5") and prepped it with an anti-static powder tool. I then took one of the floral images (a cluster of four flowers) from the Life Is Beautiful set and stamped it in the top left hand corner using Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. I then repeated this process until the top half of the panel was stamped and heat embossed.

You could stamp all the images in one go but I wasn't sure if I would see it that well enough with the clear ink on white cardstock, so I did add the powder each time. I rotated the stamp each time too before stamping, so that it looked random on the panel. I feel that that is the best way to use these smaller images for backgrounds.

Using Ink Blending Brushes, I blended on Grape Slush, Blue Hawaii and Pool Party Reactive Inks, blending down to white where the images stopped on the panel. I then splattered the panel with White Iridescent Shimmer Mist.

Whilst that was drying I die cut the Thinking of You Stamp & Cut die four times from Dove White Cardstock and once from Pitch Black Cardstock. they were layered up and added to the panel, which was then adhered to a top folding card base. To finish off, I added a few jewels with Precision Glue.

I hope you will look at those smaller images a little differently now. Thanks so much for stopping by today, happy crafting!
