Video: Coastal Scene Featuring the July Card Kit of the Month

Hello friends!! It’s Channin here and today I’m creating a picturesque beach scene featuring several products from the Hero Studio July Card Kit of the Month . In the video I combine several cardmaking techniques from ombre stamping, to ink-blending, to even masking to build my layered scene.

Watch below or on the Hero Arts YouTube channel.

To create this card I first die cut an A2 panel (4 1/4” x 5 1/2”) of Dove White cardstock with a rectangle die from the Nesting Rectangles Infinity Die Set to create a frame with a 3 1/4” x 4 1/2” opening. Next, I stamped the sky from the Victorian Seaside Stamp Set onto the front of an A2 Dove White Card . I used the frame to help get the positioning correct for the sky stamp (about 1/2” down from the top) and then inked up the stamp in Paradise Core Ink . After I stamped the sky a couple of times in Paradise, I inked up the upper half of the stamp in Bermuda Core Ink . I then used an ink blending brush to pick up some of the ink where I stopped inking and then stamped the sky a couple of times to create a gradation.

Next, I stamped the ocean with the same inks and in the same manner I stamped the sky to create an ombré look over the water. The only difference is I inked up the left side of the stamp in Bermuda . Once I finished stamping the ocean, I stamped the lighthouse in INTENS-ified Black Ink onto the card front. Next, I stamped the lighthouse and the ocean onto a full-adhesive post-it note to create two masks. I then fussy cut the images out and then placed the masks onto the card front.

Next, I i nk-blended over the sky with Arctic Core Ink to create a soft gradation and the sand in Sand Core Ink . I then removed the masks and stamped a sentiment and birds onto the card front in INTENS-ified Black Ink . Next, I stamped the foreground image of the fence and life-preserver in INTENS-ified Black Ink onto a scrap of Dove White cardstock. I then die cut it out with the matching dies and colored the foreground image and lighthouse on the card front with alcohol markers.

Next, I cut out a section of the Map Transfers and adhered it over the card front and foreground. I then adhered the foreground to the frame and finished the card by adhering the frame to the card front with foam adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed my card. Thank you so much for stopping by!
