Video: Coloring the Water Lilies Fancy Dies with Copic Markers

Hey there! Daniel West here with a heartfelt get well card featuring the new Water Lilies Fancy Dies and some Copic coloring. I filmed this project and posted it on the Hero Arts YouTube channel for you.

(If you are having trouble viewing this video, please watch HERE on YouTube.)

Tips:

  • When coloring water lilies that look like they glow from the insides, start with the darkest colors on the tips of the petals and color toward the center, getting lighter each step of the way.
  • In the video, when I realized I had used yellow-green instead of blue-green on my lily pad and stems, I just added a coating of pure blue marker over it all and now the die cuts coordinate better with the ink blended oval color.
  • Use the Nesting Oval Infinity Dies to create frames by nesting smaller die inside a larger one.

I used the new Hero Arts Compact Cutter to do all the die cutting for this card. It's ultra portable and powerful enough to cut through the high quality Hero Hues cardstock. The Compact Cutter is expected to ship the week of March 7 and when you sign up to be notified via email as soon as it's in stock, you'll be automatically entered to win the entire collection of new Hero Tools!

Thank you for joining me today on the blog and YouTube channel! I hope you enjoyed this card project. You can find a list of supplies in the grid below for your convenience.

Have a lovely day!
