Video: Interactive Bees with January My Monthly Hero Kit

Hello friends! It's Channin here and today I’m sharing a fun interactive card featuring the January 2021 My Monthly Hero Kit . In today’s video I will demonstrate how to create a bunch of buzzing bees with a super simple interactive technique.

(If you are having trouble viewing this video, please try watching it HERE on YouTube.)

To create this card I first stamped several images in INTENS-ified Black Ink onto Dove White cardstock. I then Copic colored the images and die cut them out with the matching dies. Next, I added glitter to the wings of the bees and trimmed down the flowers.

I then die cut an A2 panel of Mustard cardstock with the Honeycomb Window Die from the kit. Next, I cut out some of the sections separating four honeycomb hexagons to make areas for my bees to move. I then stamped a sentiment onto the front of the panel. Next, I trimmed the yellow glitter cardstock down to an A2 panel and adhered it to the front of an A2 top-folding cardbase . I then adhered the mustard panel with foam adhesive.

Next, I trimmed off the overhang of the flowers and adhered them to the card front with foam adhesive. I then placed three pennies behind the openings I made in the mustard panel, then added a foam dot to each and then adhered my bees on top. Lastly, I colored the few gaps between the flowers with a Copic marker.

I hope you enjoyed my card and video! Thank you so much for stopping by!

The card is great. I love how the bees move. I appreciate your instruction on the Copic coloring and that you didn’t over color the images. Thank you!

Maggie Miller,

So so darling! I am a huge bee lover and supporter, so this Release is just PERFECT for me! I’m so incredibly bummed the kit is sold out though; I hope Hero Arts will think about creating more kits.
