Hello friends! It's Channin here with a new video and card featuring the July 2020 My Monthly Hero Kit . In today’s video I play with ink layering and partial inking to add depth to my images and to really make the most of the ink cubes included in the kit. I also demonstrate an easy trick for selectively heat embossing with the beautiful coral embossing powder which is also included in the kit!

To create this card I first stamped the top and bottom coral scenes using a MISTI . I started with the most solid stamp, inked it up with Key Lime Fizz Reactive Ink and stamped it onto a 4 3/4’ X 6” panel of Dove White cardstock. I then inked the stamp up a second time, this time in Taffy Reactive Ink and stamped it again. I then rotated the panel 90 degrees and stamped the other half of the panel with the stamp in the same combo of inks.
Next, I positioned the second layer stamp, picked it up with my MISTI, selectively inked the slopes in Embossing & Watermark Ink and then stamped. I poured the coral embossing powder over the panel, wiped off the embossing powder anywhere it stuck beyond the slopes and then heat set. I rotated my panel and repeated the process for the second scene. Next, I selectively inked up some of the coral/plants images on the same stamp in Taffy and stamped. After I stamped the coral/plants in Taffy I partially inked the bottom portion of the same coral/plant images in Pool Party and stamped. I then inked and stamped the remaining coral/plants first in Pool Party and then partially in Blue Hawaii. Once again I rotated the panel and repeated the process for the second scene, with one exception, I stamped the last set of coral/plants in a combination of Key Lime Fizz and Pool Party to make the two scenes look a bit different from each other.
Next, I positioned the third stamp layer. Inked it up some of the coral/plants in a combo of Taffy + Pool Party and the others in either Key Lime Fizz + Pool Party (first scene) or Pool Party + Blue Hawaii (second scene). Once I had finished stamping both scenes, I then die cut them out with the matching dies and trimmed off the white border from the sides.
Next, I die cut a panel of vellum with the other fancy frame scene die from the kit and set it aside. I then stamped the building and dolphin in Taffy, then in Pool Party and then partially ink Blue Hawaii. When I finished stamping these images, I die cut them with the matching dies
Next, I ink blended the front of an A2 side-folding card base in Splash and Blue Hawaii and then stamped a sentiment in Intens-ified Black Ink . I finished the card by adhering the vellum to the card front, then the scenes with foam tape, and lastly the images with precision glue .

Great idea to use two of the scene. It does look like the viewer is looking from an underwater cave. Well done.
