Good morning! Emily Midgett here with you today to share a new video on how I create quick scenes by grounding my stamped images with a masked, ink-blended background.

I struggle with creating scenes on card fronts, because covering the entire canvas of a card base with stamped images can be a little daunting. Instead of having to fill the entire card front with different elements for your scene, you can limit your canvas by adding a small masked area to fill with your scenic elements.
In case you can't watch the video, here's a short explanation of my process for this project: I did some simple coloring on the Hot Air Blooms stamp set using Copic markers. I added some Post-It Notes on my white card base, then used Dusty Blue and Stone Wash inks to blend a strip of sky, removing the masking paper to reveal the crisp white areas above and below. I added a greeting from the new Mix and Match Compliments stamp set, then added my scenic elements using dimensional foam adhesive.

I watch card making videos mostly to learn technique in greater detail. I also love this “get right down to it” Video, too! It was quick to watch and inspires a flood of ideas for stamps that tend not to get used as often as I would like for their price point. You are appreciated 👍.
