You Are Flippin’ Awesome

One of the add-ons for May 2017 My Monthly Hero kit is the adorable Manatee Stamp & Cut set that features a lovable manatee and several cute accessories including mermaid wig and shell swimsuit, smoking pipe and monocle as well as a few other pieces. The sentiments are very clever and go so well together with the images.

I decided to use a “You Are Flippin’ Awesome” message and stamp a handsome manatee for a quick masculine card.

To create a background I first stamped my sentiment and later added several fish and air bubbles in the background.

The manatee, bow tie and a hat (as well as the fish on the background) were stamped in Intense Black ink onto a separate piece of white cardstock, colored using Copic markers and cut out with the help of coordinating dies. Copic marker colors used: BG18, BG15, BG32, Y15, Y35, E79, E37, E33.

The size of this card is 4 Bar, so smaller than typical A2 project. The background fish panel as well as the manatee were both foam mounted onto the card, while the hat and bow tie were adhered using glue.

As a one last step I added a layer of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew over nearly every air bubble for an additional pop of dimension.

Have fun stamping!
