FSJ Tools, Tips and Techniques: Make a Velvety Watercolor Background
Are you looking for a
simple cardmaking technique
that works like magic? How about an idea you can create in any color and with any of your favorite stencils? Do you love to play and try new things?
Yes? We thought so - and we know you are going to LOVE today’s projects.
Today’s card starts with three simple products:
FSJ’s Liquid Color
,
a stencil
,
and a
Media Mister
filled with water. Have you played with Liquid Colors? They are a water based liquid dye ink and they can be used in
so many ways
. Today we’ll apply them to a card using a
sponge dauber
.
Lay stencil on top of panel (use washi to keep it in place if needed.)
Mist water over the top of stencil and let it sit for a few seconds while you wait for the big REVEAL!
Lift up the stencil and see the magic that happened!
Because FSJ’s Liquid Colors are water based, they will react with water. Check out our entire T3 video (that’s Tools, Tips and Techniques) below to watch Kim Kesti share this technique in action - it is so much fun to watch, plus you’ll learn some extra tips and tricks from Kim along the way.
The finished cards are super simple and have a beautiful velvety texture. You will have a blast mixing and matching colors and patterns with this simple technique. Grab your favorite colors and favorite stencils and have some fun! (When you share your creations on social media, tag @fsjourney and use #funstampersjourney so we can enjoy your projects!)
