Halloween Fun With Emily Leiphart Featuring Boo Dance Party Collection

Hello, crafty friends! It’s Emily Leiphart here and I’m thrilled to be guesting on the Spellbinders blog, featuring the Boo Dance Party Collection.

I selected some non-tradition colors for this set of Halloween cards and I hope you’re inspired to try something different for your Halloween cards this year. This collection is so adorable and I think these colors suit the sweetness of these products!

Dancing Ghost Halloween Card

I love all of the Spellbinders dies with swinging legs so when I saw the Dancin’ Ghost and Dancin’ Mummy, I couldn’t help but squeal! They’re so cute when assembled and I can’t stop swinging the legs. Even my teenage son thought they were super silly!

For this first card, I used the Hypnotic Background Glimmer Hot Foil Plate with Rose Gold Hot Foil on pink cardstock. Then I used the Precision Layering A2 A Etched Dies to cut it down, adhering it to a white linen card base.

After die-cutting the various pieces and assembling the layers with Bearly Art Mini Precision Craft Glue, I placed a foam circle in the swinging mechanism, foam strips on the back of the Dancin’ Ghost, and attached it to the heat foiled panel. The die-cut sentiment was stacked three layers high for dimension.

Haunted House Card

My second card features the Haunted House, a die set that comes with so many elements to create your perfect spooky scene! I used all of the dies in this set, as well as a sentiment from Boo Dance Party Sentiments.

I love making sets of cards with the same color combination but in different portions. This card design is so different from the previous one. This time, I started with a partial dry embossed background using the Stargazer Embossing Folder. After die-cutting all the elements in different colors and layering them, I stamped one of the Boo Dance Party Sentiments on the moon before attaching the elements to the background. What’s your favorite part of this card? Mine are those little steps and the askew door. Spooky, indeed!

Dancing Mummy

My third and final card features the Dancin’ Mummy and he’s just so cute! You can combine the trick or treat bag from Dancin’ Ghost and add it to the mummy. You could even use one of the little candies and use it as a bow on the mummy’s head for a feminine touch. I love all of these options!

This background features the Colorblock Landscape in a combination of the colors used on the previous two cards. I also love how this particular curved sentiment from Boo Dance Party Sentiments fits perfectly around the mummy’s head.

I love how the die cuts for the mummy’s bandages include extra pieces to layer over top of the base layers, as well as torn edges that show where the bandages end. Just as I did with the Dancin’ Ghost, I also added googly eyes to the Dancin’ Mummy. I hope you find inspiration from this fun trio of Halloween cards!
