Ink Smooshing Plus Intricate Dies | Spellbinders Live

Join Kim in the Creative Classroom as she creates with the  Stained Glass Bouquet Collection from Becca Feeken . Kim begins her project with the outer frame  Wistful Window  die and then moves on to the  Fan Flower Transom die. A versatile element of this die set is the split rim technology - rather than one outer die to cut out the whole shape, the bottom straight cut is a separate die to give more possible uses for the transom window. Watch the video below or on our YouTube channel to see just Kim share a few creative ideas for this element. In today’s card she chose to mirror the transom shape, made possible by the split rim element to create a gorgeous shape.
To add details to the transom, Kim die cuts fan flowers and leaves. The most fun part of this project is adding soft, dreamy colors to the stained glass. Kim uses a fun ink smooshing technique by dripping water and Liquid Colors onto a non-porous surface. Then she turns a piece of cardstock face down onto each color. Once dry, Kim layers the die cut stained glass pieces over the beautiful colors she created.

Beautiful! I forgot about the ink smooshing, thanks for the reminder, it works especially well with the stained glass look. Thanks for the fun tutorial, love your videos!

CC,

These are beautiful cards. Enjoyed the video.

JM,

Enjoyed both looks. It is alway fun and inspirational to see how someone else envisions using the products!
