Layered Stencils Inspiration with Marie Nicole

Hello again, crafty friends. It’s Marie here and I blog and share my creations over at Marie Nicole Designs. I had the privilege to create with the new Layered Stencils from Spellbinders and I’m sharing my creations with you today. These stencils feature fun, bold designs and they come with some coordinating dies. You can create a full card front with these OR you can also ink blend the stylish sentiments to pop over any kind of background you design. Let’s take a look.

Layered Design

Like the name suggests, these stencils work in layers. There are about four stencils in each set. You ink blend one layer at a time, building up colors on the design as you go. This is a fun way to create a colorful and bold card front!

For this card, I ink-blended the florals and then trimmed down the panel. I then die-cut the middle area with the coordinating die.

Then, I used several hues of brown to ink blend the sentiment onto some kraft cardstock and popped the floral panel over it with foam adhesive. This created a fun two-layered card with the sentiment set back a bit from the florals.

Add Some Sparkle

This second card featured the layered stencil design but I added some glitter paste on the very last stencil layer. This adds a fun touch of sparkle to the whole design!

In addition to adding sparkle, I also added a few extra layers of cardstock behind the sentiment. I cut a lighter blue and a darker blue piece of cardstock, glued them behind the sentiment, and then added the sentiment over the stenciled design. This added a pop of dimension along with some fun colors.

Flower Cut-Outs

This last card features the Hello Layered Stencils using a color palette of blues, greens, and yellows. I ink blended as usual, and then cut out the sentiment. I added some glitter paste and some extra shadow layers (in black cardstock, this time), and then also ink blended some extra flowers to due cut and add over the sentiment.

These stencil sets are so much fun. I love finding a different color palette each time I use them. Adding dimension and glitter and embellishments is also enjoyable! I hope you are inspired to create with them! Thanks for stopping by! Until next time, Marie Nicole
