This is a great collection of peacock-related patterns with BetterPress Plates, Die Sets, 3D Embossing Folders created by Dawn Bibby. I created many cards which I demonstrate in my YouTube channel, Angela Brennan Creations, but I showcase three cards below and explain how I create these three cards.
For a Special Friend
Ink blend card panel with Distress Ink Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina. Before inserting inked card panel into 3D Embossing Folder, Peacock Motif, spritz back of inked panel with fine spray of water to soften card fibres to minimize the cracking of the card.
Tip: (1) Use correct ‘sandwich’ for 3D Embossing Folder as recommended by manufacturer of embossing machine; and (2) Leave embossed card panel in embossing folder to dry by placing an heavy object over them so inked embossed panel dries straight.
Cut down embossed card panel to 11.5cm square to place onto 13.5cm square card. Back embossed card panel with a foam sheet for some dimension. Place die cut and inked Peacock Butterfly die set at an angle on the square card front. Finish with the sentiment that has been hot foiled with Polished Brass hot foil from BetterPress Plate Elegant Peacock. To finish the card, add Ranger Glossy Accent to centers of the oval patterns on the butterfly wings.
Tip: BetterPress Plates can be hot foiled just the same as hot foil plates. Same principles with regards to placing the hot foil and placing in a hot foil machine.
Happy Birthday Beautiful
Die cut the Glorious Peacock die set with white card and ink blend die cut with rainbow colours. I used Distress Ink Seedless Preserves, Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn, Fossilized Amber, Carved Pumpkin, and Candied Apple.
Tip: Place die cut on a sticky mat, Press ‘N Seal, or masking paper so it is easier to ink blend die cut.
Prepare 13.5cm square card by attaching a black card to card front and splattering Splatter White Opaque Watercolor. Then attach inked die-cut peacock with liquid glue onto the square card front.
Finish with the sentiment that has been hot foiled with Silver hot foil from BetterPress Plate Elegant Peacock.
You’re Fabulous
Tape with Best Ever Craft Tape, the Porcelain BetterPress A2 Cotton Card Panel on the Platen (clear top plate with registration marks). Place BetterPress Plate, Elegant Peacock onto the Chase (magnetic platform to hold the press plate). Apply Ink BetterPress Black Ink onto Press Plate. Make Letterpress Sandwich and run through the manual die-cutting machine. This system was designed to be used with the Platinum or Platinum 6 Die-Cutting & Embossing Machine and is also compatible with many other die-cutting machines including the Sizzix Big Shot. The sentiment is from BetterPresss Plate Fabulous Feathers.
Color image with markers, matt onto black card, and attach to card front. Apply Ranger Glossy Accents to parts of the peacock image, sprinkle with fine silver glitter, and leave to dry.
