Sending Love On Special Occasions

Hello crafters! It’s Lisa Tilson here with you today on the Spellbinders blog. I’m delighted to be here to share some ways to use the Copperplate On Your Wedding Day Collection with you. This is a beautiful collection by Paul Antonio that includes four wedding-themed press plates although the “Sending Love” plate can be used on a wider variety of cards. All the Copperplate collections feature a beautiful Copperplate script that serves as the focal point of your card. As with all press plates, you can also foil them, so you get double the fun!

On Your Wedding Day

For my first card, I am using the Copperplate On Your Wedding Day Press Plate and I have been playing with the new Colorwheel cardstock and have found a combination that I love. I use these colors throughout. They are soft and feminine but also have a little bit of punch too. So, let’s get started with how I made this first card.

1. Foil the Copperplate On Your Wedding Day Press Plate using Matte Gold Glimmer Hot Foil and the Glimmer Hot Foil System. I foiled mine onto Neenah 80lb Solar White Classic Crest Cardstock.
2. Cut your foiled sentiment panel down using an Essential Hexi-Gem Etched Die.
3. Next, die cut the largest die from Perfect Touch Rectangles and Tag Etched Dies from white card.

4. Die-cut flowers and leaves from Little Blooms Etched Dies. I used Wild Berry, Dahlia, Bellini, and Chiffon Colorwheel Cardstock. I die cut the leaves from 80lb white card.
5. Where required, adhere the pieces together using Bearly Art Glue.
6. Begin to pull your card together by adhering the die-cut Perfect Rectangle panel onto a top folding A2 white note card using wet adhesive.
7. Pop some foam squares onto the back of your sentiment panel and place that down on top.

8. Gradually add your blooms around your sentiment using a mix of foam squares and Bearly Art Glue.
9. Finish off by adding gems from Coral Coast Sparkletz. This gem mix is absolutely beautiful! Although it has coral/pink iridescent jewels in it, they toned really well with the cardstock.

Sending Love

For my next card, I am using the Copperplate Sending Love Press Plate and I combine it with the Love Note Bird Etched Dies. This die set has a bird holding a love note, so I thought it would pair well with the sentiment.

1. Start off by foiling the Copperplate Sending Love Press Plate onto a panel of Chiffon Colorwheel Cardstock using Champagne Glimmer Hot Foil.
2. Next, take the Love Note Bird Etched Dies and cut the pieces from Wild Berry, Dahlia, Bellini, and Chiffon Colorwheel Cardstock, along with some 80lb white card.
3. Die cut the little heart and some flower centers from glitter cardstock. I used a champagne glitter cardstock but the Glitter Metallic from Rose Gold AssortmentTreasured Cardstock would work really well here too.
4. Die cut the beak from Beeswax cardstock, the eye from Raven cardstock, and the legs from Acorn cardstock.

5. Adhere the bird together using Bearly Art Glue. I used a little piece of double-sided tape behind the eye to hold that in place.
6. Start assembling your card by gluing your sentiment panel to a top folding A2 white note card.
7. Adhere the white leaf branch using glue and then add your bird once you are happy with the positioning. I glued directly onto the panel but you could also add foam tape here for extra dimension and interest.

8. Finish by gluing the envelope just behind the beak and adding the flowers onto the leaf branch and into some of the gaps around the bird.
9. Adhere the heart onto the envelope and then add some Gold Mix Color Essential Gems and glitter cardstock flower centers onto your flowers as well as around the card.

To The Lovely Couple

My final card is a bit bolder! I do still use the same color palette as before but the emphasis is on the beautiful Wild Berry color. It is a dramatic change! For this card I used the Copperplate To The Lovely Couple Press Plate.

1. Begin by foiling the Copperplate To The Lovely Couple Press Plate onto Wild Berry Colorwheel Cardstock using Matte Gold Glimmer Hot Foil.
2. Cut the panel out using a Mirrored Arch Labels Etched Die.
3. Foil the Mirrored Arch Nested Sprigs Press Plate onto Wild Berry card, again using Matte Gold Glimmer Hot Foil.

4. Die cut some flowers and leaves from Scallop Journal Cards Etched Dies. I used Dahlia, Wild Berry, Chiffon and Bellini again for my flowers. I also die cut the centres out from white card.
5. Adhere your background panel onto a top folding A2 white note card.
6. Pop your sentiment panel on top using foam tape.

7. Finish by adding your flowers using a mix of foam tape and Bearly Art Glue. I didn’t add any extra sparkle with gems as this card is heavily foiled and busy enough. That is a personal choice of course.
