One of my favorite holidays of the year is Thanksgiving. How about you? There are so many wonderful things about Thanksgiving but I especially enjoy spending the day with family and friends. Then, of course, we all love sharing a large, traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Today I'm sharing a dinner-inspired card that I made with the new Thanksgiving Table stamp set and the matching dies. I'll be sending a few of these cards to friends and family, across the miles, to let them know that I wish that we could be together.
In many ways, this card was as easy to make as setting a table. To create a table, I stamped the Designer Woodgrain stamp onto a brown card base with Cup O' Joe ink and then I used a sponge dauber with some of the same ink to lightly darken the edges. I decided to put a table runner down the center of the card so I cut a strip of orange cardstock and then stamped it with the Picnic Blanket Bold Prints background using Orange Soda ink.
The Thanksgiving Table stamp set is chock full of images that you might find at a Thanksgiving dinner - dishes, utensils, napkins, and all kinds of delicious food. I selected my favorite images and then stamped each of them multiple times on white cardstock with Intense Black ink. Using a few markers, I quickly colored each image, with little or no shading, and then used the Thanksgiving Table Frame Cuts to easily cut around each one. I also stamped and cut a few small leaves with Strawberry Bold ink.
Next, the fun part - I "set" a table for four people. Simply using liquid glue and foam adhesive, I arranged all of the dishes, layered the plates with food, and then scattered the extra dinnerware and food across the card. To make the sentiment strip, I applied Strawberry Bold ink directly to a piece of white cardstock, let the ink dry, and then embossed "Happy Thanksgiving" onto the strip. To finish, I embellished the card with three small pearls.
If you are hosting Thanksgiving this year, these stamps would be equally wonderful to use to decorate place cards, invitations, menus and even silverware sleeves. I hope that you have a fantastic and crafty week,

Jayne this card is beautiful. It is a summary of an ideal Thanksgiving feast with family and friends. Feastive as it commands your senses to notice the sights, sounds and smell the feast before you.

Makes me anxious for Thanksgiving to get here. Wish my table looked that good.
Just had our Thanksgiving in Canada last weekend, love the use of the stamps in an untraditional way!
