Embellishing Fancy Dies with a Little Sparkle!

Good morning, Jess here with a little springtime inspiration using our beautiful new Cherry Blossom Fancy Die and I have a few tips and tricks for adding some fun embellishments to your stand-alone dies!

To start I created a soft background panel for my scene by blending Cotton Candy and Rose Madder ink onto an A2 piece of Hero Hues Dove White cardstock. Then I trimmed the edges of the panel to get rid of any blending marks and adhered it to a Top Folding Hero Hues Dove White Card. Next I die-cut the Cherry Blossom Fancy Die from Dove White cardstock and colored it with Copic markers.

Next I stamped the sentiment from Kittens in Kimonos onto the panel with Intens-ified Black Ink and then adhered the Cherry Blossom Fancy Die. I also added a few blossoms falling from the branch and a few that I popped up with foam dots on top of the die. Next I applied Spectrum Noir clear sparkle to all the flowers to give them a little shimmer. I let that dry then I added Crystal Clear Lacquer to the center of all the flowers. Finally I sprinkled Icicle Glitter onto the lacquer for even more sparkle. The card really shines when it catches the light!

And that's it! I love adding little bits of sparkle and shimmer to stand-alone dies and I think it makes a big difference in the finished result. Thanks so much for stopping by today and have an amazing day!
