Today we have Channin Pelletier here to share some fabulous "beyond the kit" ideas for a few of the extras. Take it away, Channin...
The moment I saw the Tropical Fishes stamp set I could not wait to color all those beautifully detailed fish . I pulled out all my boldest and brightest colors to really make them pop!
Once colored, I paired my fish with a blended background created with the Pebbles & Stones Stencil and Reactive Inks .
By combining the stencil with blue inks ( Pool Party , Splash , Blue Hawaii ) I was able to completely changed the look from stones to water. And thanks to the water reactive properties of Reactive Inks , the added water spots create the look of bubbles – the perfect final touch!
Of course I had to try my hand at making the Pebbles & Stones Stencil look like rocks as well.
For this card, I inked up the actual stencil with Charcoal Core Ink and then dry-embossed it over white cardstock. Next, I ink-blended with Granite and Charcoal inks to make the rocks look dimensional and then splattered with watered-down ink to make that amazing texture. Lastly, I finished the card with an image and sentiment from the Nautical Messages Bundle .
