Festive Fun: Shaker Card with Colorful Presents

Hi friends! It’s Mindy Eggen, and today I’m sharing a festive shaker card that works beautifully for both Christmas and birthdays. I love when a design can do double duty, and the Wrap It Up Letterpress + Foil Plate from the Best Gift Ever Collection is the perfect starting point.

I started by foiling the Wrap It Up Plate using Champagne Glimmer Foil with the Glimmer Machine. This plate creates the bows and strings for the gift packages—a perfect foundation for adding lots of color and personality.

Next, I pulled out the Gorgeous Giftwrap Stencil. By carefully masking off each present, I was able to blend a rainbow of inks: Azalea, Papaya, Butter Bar, Green Apple, Paradise, and Orchid. Each box gets its own pop of color! To step it up, I used the second layer of the stencil and reapplied those same colors with a heavier hand, creating fun patterns and details on the packages.

Once the stenciling was finished, I trimmed the panel down to A2 size using the Nesting Rectangles Dies. Then it was time to turn these gifts into interactive shakers!

I die cut the Gift Boxes Die multiple times from white cardstock, layered the frames together, and created little “wells” for each present. Behind one panel, I adhered acetate to form the shaker windows. After lining the back with thin double-sided tape, I filled each compartment with iridescent star confetti from my stash. Each present gets its own sparkly surprise when you give the card a shake!

To bring it all together, I added a playful sentiment from the Just Because Stamp & Cut that works perfectly for Christmas or birthdays. That way, I can use this card for multiple occasions, depending on what I need.

Shaker cards always feel extra special, and I love how this one bursts with color and shine. The rainbow presents, the champagne foil details, and those twinkling shaker bits all combine for a design that’s festive, fun, and versatile.
