Flat Floral Shaker Card

Hi crafty friends! Charlene here, and today I’m excited to share a cheerful floral flat shaker card featuring the May 2025 Layering Stencils of the Month: Roses are Red. Bright ink blending, sparkling sequins, and a clean layered frame come together to create a card that's full of texture and charm.

May 2025 Layerings Stencils of the Month

To start, I reached for an A2-sized piece of Antique Ivory Cardstock and the Roses are Red Layering Stencils. For the base layer of the blooms, I ink blended with Peony Core Ink. On the detail layer of the blooms, I added Pink Grapefruit Core Ink to the outer edges and Pale Tomato Core Ink from the centers, creating a soft, glowing effect.

For the stems and leaf details, I blended Moss and Forever Green Core Inks to create subtle shading. I added Espresso Core Ink for the centers of the flowers. On the final stencil layer, I used a lighter blend of Moss Core Ink to color the leaves and tie the whole panel together.

Once the ink blending was complete, I created a flat shaker pocket around the panel and filled it with the Champagne Sequin Mix for a touch of sparkle that moves with the card.

Next, I die cut a panel of Dove White Cardstock and a panel of Peony Cardstock using different sized arches from the Arches Infinity Dies. I glued the two together, creating a delicate Peony-colored frame that peeks through the Dove White top layer. I adhered this framed piece over the shaker panel using double-sided tape for a clean, secure finish.

For the sentiment, I stamped a phrase from the May 2025 Stamp & Cut of the Month: Flowers Bloom in Intens-ified Black Ink and adhered it to the front of the card. I love how the simple sentiment balances the colorful florals and sparkling sequins!

This card was so much fun to create—and with the layering stencils doing most of the work, it came together quickly. I hope you’re inspired to create a bright, happy card of your own!

Happy crafting!
