Glittery Stained Glass Technique

Hi Crafters! It's Kelly Taylor here and today I have a fun technique to share with you. I'm calling it "Glittery Stained Glass" because that's exactly what it reminds me of!

I started by pulling out a rainbow of Hero Arts Core Inks for my background. I blended on Azalea, Papaya, Lemon Yellow, Fresh Lawn, Summer Sky, and Grape Juice in a circle pattern starting in the center of my Dove White cardstock using blending brushes.

Once the ink blending was done I laid down the Artistic Peony Stencil and taped it in place. I then used a Palette Knife to spread Glitter Paste across the entire stencil. I removed the stencil and then immediately cleaned both the knife and the stencil. I let the paste dry completely before the next step.

Once the paste was completely dry I used a blending brush and Licorice Reactive ink to add black right over top. You have to use the water soluble Reactive Ink in order for this technique to work or you won't be able to wipe the black off the glitter. I wiped the ink off with a damp microfiber cloth. I wouldn't recommend using a baby wipe for this since the glitter is a textured surface and can pick up the fibers from the baby wipe. Any areas that didn't wipe easily I dabbed and that seemed to pick up the residual ink.

I matted the background onto Pitch Black cardstock, which I also used for my heat embossed sentiment. The sentiment is from the Love You Stamp & Cut XL. I love the way the white sentiment pops off the background!

Thanks so much for joining me today. I hope you're inspired to give this technique a try soon!
