Hi friends! Emily Midgett here with you today, and I have some super shiny, colorful iridescent inspiration for you today using some of the newest products from the Hero Arts Holiday 2023 release! I did some hot foiling using the new Leaves and Dots Hot Foil Plate and used the blues and greens in the iridescent aqua foil as the basis for my color scheme for the rest of my card. Let's get started with the details.
To start, I hot foiled the Leaves and Dots Hot Foil Plate onto white cardstock using iridescent aquamarine colored foil. I love how shiny and colorful this foil looks on the white cardstock! I die cut the foiled pieces using the Bulb Ornament Infinity Dies, also die cutting the ornament topper from some silver glitter paper from the Holiday Sparkle glitter paper pack. To bring out the colors of the iridescent foiling, I used blending brushes to blend Aquatic and Green Apple inks around the edges of the foiled ornaments. I also die cut a plain white ornament, embossing it in silver with an elegant greeting from the Holiday Foliage Messages stamp set. I blended the edges of the white ornament with only the Aquatic ink to help it stand out from the brighter, hot foiled ornaments.
For the background, I stamped the beautifully detailed Poinsettia Flowers Bold Prints background onto some more white cardstock using Embossing & Watermark Ink. I used the utterly spectacular new Iridescent Blue Embossing Powder to add some super subtle pattern and shimmer to the background, and let me tell you....I cannot overstate the beauty of that iridescent embossing powder. It's absolutely scrumptious. Pictures don't do it justice. I can't wait to see what it looks like on colorful cardstock, because even just on regular white cardstock, it looked marvelous! I blended more Aquatic ink on the edges of the embossed panel using the residual ink left over on my blending brush, creating a very subtly colorful edge to the embossed tone-on-tone background.
After I had finished creating all of the different components for the focal point, it was time to start assembling. I mounted the blended iridescent blue background on a slightly larger, A2-sized panel of Kiwi cardstock, popping the panel up with some foam adhesive. I then arranged the ornaments in a cascade on my card front, adhering them with more foam adhesive, creating a double layer of foam tape in some spots. For one last touch of sparkle on this super shiny, textured card, I added a few shimmering aqua blue gems. If you can't pile on the sparkle at Christmas, when can you?
Well, that's all for this card! I love creating these limited color palette projects, and it's such fun to pull the colors in from the special elements in the card, like the iridescent hot foil, to make everything super cohesive and organic. Thanks so much for reading, and have a marvelous day!
