When you’ve got a safari themed stamp set, a sunset scene is just inevitable – you gotta do it! Especially when you’ve got such pretty scene making dies that come with the set.
For my cards today, I tried two different sunset variations.
For both cards, I die cut the cloud circle die out of scratch paper and used it as a mask to blend my scene. This first card uses Orange Soda, Butter Bar, Rose Madder, and Deep Ocean. After blending the scene, I heat set the ink real quick before stamping my sentiment. I find that this helps the sentiment from kinda blurring in with the rest of the ink.
The elephant and monkey were stamped in Navy – the elephant was die cut, and the monkey handcut.
For the second card, I blended the background Grape Juice, Soft Lilac, and Rose Madder.
The tree, from the Thorn Tree and Grasses Fancy die, was die cut, and layered on a second die cut to give it some more dimension.
I trimmed both cards a little short, as I accidentally blended a little bit of ink off on the side of this purple one. ;) I then cut a little bit of the bottom, to let the color of the card base (Sunshine and Floral Layering papers) peek through.
Sunsets come in so many different colors, so play around and you can come up with really fun combinations!
