Rainbow Mail

Hi friends! I'm here today to share a happy little Peek-A-Boo card, featuring our old friend Mail Jumble. Over the past couple months, I've become even more thankful for anytime I find something handstamped in my mailbox. So celebrating mail was on my mind!

I began by stamping Mail Jumble in Intens-ified Black Ink on Dove White Cardstock. I colored the images with colored pencils, in a rainbow order across the card. I have a set of Tombow recycled pencils, but any colored pencils would work, or markers, or whichever color medium you prefer.

Once I was finished coloring, I cut the cute little doors with my Peek-A-Boo Doors Fancy Die.

To add the messages inside the doors, I find the easiest way to do it is to create a template with the die. I cut it from some scrap paper and cut off all the doors. I place that template in my MISTI, and line up the Hero Greetings Mini Messages in the template, closing the door of the MISTI to pick them all up. Then I stamp on my card base or background cardstock all at once. When done, I glue the colored panel to it, and the messages are all lined up perfectly inside the doors! To finish the card, I added a bit of glitter glue here and there on the packages for a bit of fun sparkle.

While I had my MISTI set up, I stamped a bunch of card panels and messages. The coloring took a while, but sometimes just sitting and coloring is good for the soul, especially when it creates a stack of handmade cards to send to friends!

I really like this idea and can hardly wait to try it out!

Dawn,

What a great idea to create the template for the messages! I have a similar door template with the library stamp, along with the mail stamp you used. I was puzzled by how to use the messages behind doors and you have the answer! Thank you!!
