Retro Christmas - Hero Arts

Retro Christmas

Hi everyone, it's Libby here today! Who's ready for a colorful holiday? For this retro Christmas card, I went with a color palette that is inspired by the 1950's, and downright funky! When googling inspiration for using the Retro Christmas Messages stamp set, I found lots of fun ideas using unconventional Christmas colors. Check it out for yourself - google "mid-century modern Christmas" and see what you get. I love taking little trips down memory lane!

For my card, I began by stamping the "it's the most wonderful time of the year" sign in Taffy Reactive Ink, and die cutting with the Retro Christmas Messages Frame Cuts. Next, I inked up two Dove White Hero Hues cardstock panels with a blending brush - one in Taffy, and the other in Thistle Reactive Ink. I also inked some scrap paper in Thistle as well as Pool Party Reactive Ink.

I used the two little diamond-shaped dies to cut out shapes from the scrap paper I had inked up. I arranged those on my Taffy-inked panel, then stamped some Pool Party snowflakes on my Thistle panel.

Everything was mounted on Dove White Hero Hues cardstock, then onto Paradise Hero Hues cardstock. Some silver glitter paper from my stash was used to add a bit of sparkle, as well as a little glitter glue. I finished off the card with a whole bunch of Ombre Ocean sequins, attached with Precision Glue.

These Retro Christmas Messages are so much fun!

Thanks for stopping by,
