Hi friends! Lydia here with a super fun accidental technique today.
My intention for my card today was a crisp black and white design, but I had a lightbulb moment when I was inking up the Circles and Cylinders Bold Prints background stamp.
The MISTI has made it so that if you have an imperfectly inked stamp - you can easily stamp it again and get perfect inking. But as I was applying Intense Black ink to this gorgeous stamp, before I had it inked completely, because of the smooth red rubber on the solid parts of the design, I could see a texture that looked like newsprint! I was so excited, that I stopped inking the stamp and stamped this "imperfect" image onto my cardstock, and then I squealed! It looked to me like the opposite of the chalkboard technique, and it completely changes the look of this image - giving you twice as many possibilities!
One tip I will share with you when using Bold Prints, is that I frequently cut a piece of cardstock that is the same size as the inside of my MISTI so that I can stamp the entire Bold Prints image. Then I cut it down into panels for two cards as I've done here today.
I finished these with a thin mat of black cardstock, and then used the Hello Message Fancy Die in red cardstock on the white card and then I layered a white and black die cut for the black card.

Like the look of the newsprint like stamping. The tip on using cardstock size of MISTI to stamp entire bold print cut to make 2 cards is wonderful idea.
