Soft Floral Stenciling

Hello there, Michelle here today, sharing a card using the Color Layering Wild Columbine Stencils. Here at Hero Arts, we have a number of stencils that were designed to coordinate with stamp sets, but did you know that you can use a lot of them on their own too? This gives a beautiful soft look!

I started off my card by taking a 3.75" x 5" panel of Deluxe Smooth White cardstock and placed the first Color Layering Wild Columbine Stencil on top, in the left hand corner. Using a Small Ink Blending Brush, I blended Dandelion Core Ink to the centres of the flowers. I then added a little Azalea Core Ink to the outside edges of the petals for some added interest.

The stencil was removed and I placed the second one on top. Since I am not using the stencils in the orientation that they are meant to be in, I don't have the four corners to line the stencils up. However, I found these stencils really easy to line up, even at an angle. For the second layer, I used a combination of Dandelion and Papaya Core Inks.

For stencil three, I blended Kiwi Core Ink for the base layer of the leaves. For stencil four, I blended Fresh Lawn and Pine Core Inks for the second layer of the leaves. For the flower centres, I used Papaya Core Ink. The panel was then adhered to an A2 white card base with thin foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment from Message Strips Stamp & Cut XL on to Azalea cardstock using Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied White Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut into a strip and adhered to the card with more thin foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Pink Enamel Dots.

Even though I used bright shades on my flowers, I still think the flowers have a softness to them, thanks to the no-line look. Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you have a great day!
