Video: Adding Depth with Stencils from the September MMH Kit

Hello, friends! It’s Channin here with a new card and video! Today I demonstrate how to create lots of depth with selective ink blending and the layering stencils from the new September 2021 My Monthly Hero Kit .

(If you are having trouble viewing this video, please try watching it HERE on YouTube.)

To create this card I first stamped the sunflowers in Root Beer (included in kit) onto Dove White cardstock. After I stamped the flowers I then ink blended over them starting with the flower base layer stencil in Butter Bar (included in kit) and Creamsicle ink to create a gradation. Next, I ink blended over the detail layer for the flowers with Butter Bar , Creamsicle , and Fruit Punch . For the flower center base layer I used Caramel (included in kit) and Root Beer (included in kit) on the edges. Then for the leaf base layer I used Key Lime Fizz (included in kit), Moss and Pine . Lastly, I finished with the detail layer stencil for the leaves and centers in Moss , Pine , and Root Beer . When I finished ink blending the flowers I then die cut them out with the matching Frame Cuts.

Next, I die cut five “hello” outlines out of Dove White cardstock using the coordinating “hello” word dies included in the kit. I then stamped and white heat-embossed a sub-sentiment onto the front of an A2 top-folding Sand card base . Then I positioned the flowers over the card front, trimmed off the overhang, added two layers of stacked scrap cardstock to the backside and adhered them to the card front.

Next, I trimmed off three of my “hello’s” where they overlap the sunflowers, then adhered them together. I then adhered the remaining two “hello’s” together and adhered those on top of the stacked and trimmed trio. Lastly, I finished my card by adhering the “hello” onto my card front.

I hope you enjoyed my card and video! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Rcvd my Kit yesterday. Stamped in black then ink blended and mine look dead (no yellow vibrance). Need to try again stamping in Root Beer like you did and ink blend.
