Video: XOXO Cover Plate & Emboss Resist

Welcome friends! Mindy here with you today to share inspiration using the XOXO Cover Plate and an emboss resist background.

I have a video walking through this process that you can view down below or HERE on the Hero Arts YouTube channel.

Cover plates dies are a lot of fun because you can use them for shakers, hot foil with them, die cut inlay technique or add any background design behind it. I am going for a background design using the All My Heart Peek-A-Boo stamp set .

I stamped the hearts image in Embossing & Watermark ink and heat embossed with White Satin Pearl embossing powder.

I am using Reactive inks in Taffy , Berry Smoothie and Thistle to ink blend over my background with blending brushes .

I'll use the Nesting Rectangles die to cut out my XOXO panel and also the background panel.

I also cut a piece of Pitch Black cardstock just slightly larger than my die cut panel to add a black border.

To tie the black into the card more and make the sentiment pop, I am heat embossing this sentiment from the Signpost Stamp & Cut XL set . This sentiment is stamped in Unicorn Pigment ink and sprinkled with White Detail embossing powder which is my favorite way to do white heat embossing.

After adding my panels to a side-folding card base , I will add the sentiment to the front with black foam squares.

Hope you enjoyed today's inspiration!

Pretty. Ordered this from Simon says Stamp 25% off Hero Arts items sale. Will give this a try when this XO coverplate die arrives.
