Vintage Ombré Ranunculus

There are currently thirteen Ombré Inks available in the Hero Arts Online Store that are a dye ink formula. But now Hero Arts has added to their Ombré line with two new pigment inks in the colors of hero_product_link sku="AF346" text="Vintage Metallic Rust"] and hero_product_link sku="AF347" text="Vintage Metallic Steel"]. Both of these inks offer a gradation of three complementary colors that blend across an image to create depth in your stamping.

Today I'm showcasing the hero_product_link sku="AF346" text="Vintage Metallic Rust Ombré Ink"] and how it works great to stamp on colored cardstock while still keeping that gradation of color.

The images in the hero_product_link sku="CL949" text="You're So Lovely"] stamp set are a great match for this ink as they have a good amount of solid area which is key in using the Ombré Inks. Since this is a pigment ink formula I did want to point out a few tips and suggestions that might be helpful.

• The ink takes quite a long time to dry on its own. I actually left my stamped floral background sit for several hours before putting the card together and even then it was still slightly wet to the touch. So I just ended up using my heat tool to finish drying it.

• If you are familiar with our dye Ombré Inks, you know there is a bit of a learning curve with a special tapping motion to get the right gradation. Well don't worry about that with the pigment formula -- these blend effortlessly!

• They work great on darker cardstock, like I have done on my card today. The pigment ink formulation allows the ink to set on top of the paper rather than soak in like a dye ink.

I wanted to keep the background the focus of my card, so I added a simple die cut message using the hero_product_link sku="DC175" text="Love Stamp & Cut set"]. My photos don't do this gorgeous ink justice -- that shine is something you just have to see in real life!
