Floral Birthday Cards with Elena

Hello everyone. It’s Elena’s turn to share a couple of new projects this Sunday. The last 2 months I have been so very busy with Christmas cardmaking projects, I felt I needed to switch to something non Christmas, just to take a break from Winter, so I decided to create something that I like most of all – Floral cards.

It seems that I am waiting for the Spring, though I haven’t had a chance to enjoy the Winter. However I felt that I miss the flowers, the birds singing and the best way to approach it is to start creating  something that you miss. For my cards I focused on Chantilly Paper Lace collection. I worked with Bella Rose Lattice Layering  Frame Large dies.

I combined the borders that come in Bella Rose Lattice Layering  Frame Large set with the borders from Lunette Arched Borders, they match each other and you can easily create many alternative borders with them, that really great for cards. I started with fixing the borders at one side of my card base, and make 2 different die cut one on the right, the other on the left.

I didn’t add any background layer. I used a eggshell cardstock for my card, I liked the color combination that I’ve got, so there was no need for extra paper.  Then I die cut a frame from the blue cardstock using the frame from Annabelle’s Trousseau Layering Frame Medium set.

I repeated the same steps for my second card. The only new layer I added was the corner that I die cut from Annabelle’s Set from gold cardstock and added it as an embellishment on the frame. It added the elegance to it

To make it look more sophisticated I added rhinestones onto the corner die cut, I guess it adds the royalty at the same time, not just because of the gold color, but die to the shape of this corner die. Initially I wanted to stamp the quote on the blue frame die cut, but after adding the corner cut, I thought it doesn’t need any extra sentiment, and kept it with no quote at all
