Rainbow Cards with the NEW Cardmaker Collection

Hello everyone, it’s Cassie Trask here, and I’m pretty excited to be guesting here on the Spellbinders blog! I’ve always loved primary colors, and I love that there are so many ways to use them to make a rainbow. Since the NEW Cardmaker Collection had a few solid image stamps and a couple of new beautiful backgrounds, I thought it would be fun to highlight background techniques using the rainbow.

This first project highlights the use of the rainbow by doing some selective ink smooshing. A small piece of acetate or even some plastic packaging works well to get your colors exactly where you want them.

This second project uses those same inks stamped directly onto your background stamp. I started with my yellow in the middle and then overlapped the red and blue to get a mix of colors.

My final project, once again, used those same ink colors brayered over the background stamp stamped in black.
