Yana's Foiled Basics Inspiration | Envelope Bouquet with Marie Nicole

Hello, crafty friends! Its Marie here again from Marie Nicole Designs. I had the pleasure of creating with the new Foil Basics Glimmer plates and I have two cards to show you today! These Glimmer plates are full of lovely foliage and scripty fonts. Perfect for building a foiled wreath and adding the perfect sentiment to your cards. For my first card today, I filled a little envelope with the foliage pieces that I foiled and die cut with these new glimmer plates.

Foliage Envelope

I began by foiling all my pieces with gold foil, and then die cutting them with the coordinating dies. I used the foliage pieces from both the Foliage Border and the Organic Foliage sets. I love that these sets are able to be mixed to give you more pieces to work with!

For the background on my card, I cut a piece of white paper and a piece of pink paper diagonally, then used washi tape to hold them together while I foiled the Polka Dot Strip along the bottom. This Polka Dot Strip glimmer plate is able to give you a fun border OR be placed again to continue the pattern across your whole project. I then added the polka dot pieces of cardstock to my card base as my background.

For the envelope, I used the dies in the January Glimmer Kit of the Month. The dies cut out the sides that will give you an envelope when assembled. I added this envelope to the front of my card, and then simply arranged my foiled foliage inside. I used both liquid glue and foam adhesive to do this. To finish this card, I added a few clear sequins and the foiled sentiment.

Such a pretty card! With so much dimension, this is a card that I would most likely give by hand instead of sending through the mail! Watch video tutorial below or on Youtube:

Foliage Border Wreath

My second card today features the Foliage Border Glimmer set. This set gives you a glimmered circle that you can add some gorgeous foliage around. There is also a die that will perfectly cut out the circle border with the foliage attached. I simply Glimmered these pieces together and die cut them out in order to add to the front of my card.

I wanted to add a few more foiled pieces along the edge of my angled cardstock strips on the background, so I foiled more pieces from the Organic Foliage Glimmer set. I used Aura Foil for all my foiled pieces- including the sentiment. This foil is a gold foil with a colorful shine to it. So pretty!

For my background, I simply cut a number of cardstock strips using different colors of FSJ cardstock. I then layered them on my background at an angle, and trimmed off the sides with a scissors. I added my foiled border over these strips using foam adhesive, and then added the additional foiled pieces behind the border with liquid glue.

I also added the glimmered sentiment and a few pink sequins to finish this card! So simple to make but the shine of the foil makes it stand out!
