Boo!

Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today sharing some kinda spooky, kinda cute Halloween inspiration using some new and some old products from Hero Arts! I don't generally care for Halloween. I don't do "scary" very well, so I prefer to keep my Halloween projects cute and a little spooky with fun colors! For today's post, I've paired the new Halloween Scene Background Cling stamp with some ink blending and some fun die cuts from previous catalogs. Let's get started with the details!

I began by using the Clear Embossing & Watermark ink pad and white embossing powder to heat emboss the Halloween Scene Background Cling stamp on some Amethyst Hero Hues cardstock. I love the contrast that the bright white embossing powder creates with this jewel-bright cardstock! I used blending brushes with Navy ink to blend around the edges and create a bit of a nighttime halo, as well as adding a bit more contrast to that bright white embossing powder.

Next, I die cut the Paper Layering Haunted House die from some Pebble cardstock and backed it with Pitch Black cardstock. I also blended some Charcoal ink around the edges to give it a bit of extra dimension and make it look appropriately "spooky." I die cut a fence and the wee ghostie from the Paper Layering Haunted House die using Dove White cardstock.

I adhered the haunted house and its spiritual inhabitant to the blended cemetery card base using foam adhesive, adding the fence with some liquid adhesive. For a greeting (since I somehow don't really have any Halloween-y greetings in my entire stash....) I decided to create one using the Uppercase Fancy Alphabet Dies. I die cut B-O-O-! from Dove White Cardstock three times and layered them together to give them extra dimension. I added them to the card front a bit helter-skelter to the card front to add a touch of whimsy to my spooky-ish card.
