Subtle Coloring

Hello there, Michelle here and today I have a card to share that uses subtle colouring with Copic Markers and the new You & Me By The Sea Stamp Set.

Ahoy There by Michelle Short for Hero Arts

I first took a panel of white cardstock slightly smaller than my finished card base of 3 1/2" x 5 7/8" which is known as 4 Bar size. I stamped the anchor image from the You & Me By The Sea stamp set on to this three times using Soft Granite Ink. I used this ink not necessarily for no-line colouring, but to give a subtle look. I then stamped the sentiment using Intense Black Ink (which is suitable to use with alcohol markers).

I then coloured the anchors in very simply using W5, W3 and W1 for the anchor itself and E44, E42 and E40 for the rope. The panel was added to the 4 bar note card (made from Snow Layering Paper), using foam tape.

A very clean and simple card but I like the effect of the subtle colouring. Thank you for stopping by today. Happy stamping!

I have a niece and her husband who are both Naval officers. I can’t wait to make them cards with this stamp!

Diane Quinlan,

Love the clean lines and the simplicity of this card!!!

Ann Marie,

Really nice card for a pirate :) <3

Anne-Laure BM,

This is awesome Michelle, just clean and simple but gorgeous.

Henriëtte,

I DO SO LOVE how you colored them. They have depth, which is what I strive for….but never achieve. I am trying to learn, though, which is why I love to see talented people’s work :)
