Sweater Weather

Oh yes, another season is upon us loaded with those wonderful holiday-themed sweaters. Although now socks are giving them competition! I bought some that light up!

I thought I would play with the Christmas Sweater die and show you the realms of possibilities! What a fun time I had experimenting with all the paper colors and printed papers in this world. Because this die is so intricate, if you have a shim to put under the cutting plates it helps the little pieces release easier.

I chose a few favorites to show you today. My favorite is the Palm Springs version with the orange and turquoise papers and some little brads that I attached. Go into your stashes of buttons, brads, sequins, etc to jazz up the sweaters. The tiny greeting is from Hero Greetings Christmas Messages. If you have a palm die (such as the Color Layering Palm Tree Frame Cuts) you can use it for a background, or hand cut one like I did.

Next up I made a Lapis blue Hanukkah sweater with the help of the Happy Hanukkah stamp set and matching dies. CM216 and DI448. Emboss the star in gold for an elegant look and then die cut. Mount with foam tape.

For the next card, the "let’s be merry" message from Hero Greetings Christmas Messages is lightly inked with Nordic Holiday Bold Prints. The sweater is cut from Kiwi and then mounted on Meadow. Add tree brad or button and mount with foam tape.

I thought if you need place cards at your table you could attach them to small folded cards like I did for Cora. Either hand write or use an alphabet for names. I used Azalea and Kiwi and of course a gem!

And don’t forget tags. With all the punch outs you will have, the trees make a cute little to/from tags for gifts. Last but least give felt a try BUT since the die is so intricate, paper backed felt works best!

So, enjoy creating your sweaters! So much faster than knitting them!!

Happy Holidays!!

Gorgeous sweaters Sandy, there are a few I would love to have in my size but then off course not from cardstock LOL.
Thank you so much for your inspiration and Happy Holidays to you too.

It can be something as simple as a pocket or something more intricate like a waterfall mechanism or flips. Today, we are going to focus on one of those simple techniques - a pocket!  It’s the perfect technique to dip your toes into the interactive...
