Holiday Stamps for any Occasion

The Season of Wonder Catalog is filled with so many great stamps that are perfect for your holiday cards. But if you look closely, you will find quite a few stamps that can be used year round for any occasion, like the Sugar and Spice Bold Prints that I use on my card today.

The first thing I did was ink up the background stamp using Pale Tomato, Orange Soda and Soft Cantaloupe inks and stamped it onto a white cardstock panel.

To create the curved accent on the bottom of the panel, I created a mask by tracing a bowl onto masking paper and trimming it out. I used the same curve of the bowl to trace and trim out the bottom edge of the stamped panel. I placed the mask about an inch from the bottom, inked up that area with VersaMark ink, sprinkled on Brass Embossing Powder and heat embossed the area.

Next, I stamped my sentiment from the Art Deco Thank You Kit on vellum using Staz-On Jet Black Ink. My plan was to just adhere the message to my stamped panel, but I felt like it just didn't stand out enough and needed an element behind. So, looking through my dies, I found the Paper Layering Feather, and it ended up being the perfect solution! I die cut it from blue felt, adhered it to my stamped panel and then attached my sentiment.

The last step in most of the cards I make is to adhere my panel to a card base. Once it's all done I like to then decide whether it looks best on a white or colored card base. In this case, I found the perfect blue card to match my felt feather with a Cerulean Folded Card. It's like it was meant to be! Then to finish it off I added a few sequins from the Frost and Champagne assortments.
