Video: Creating Your Own Shaker Elements

I think I have a problem with heat embossing…I can’t seem to stop using it! Today’s card shows how you can heat emboss on top of an already heat embossed layer, as well as use some heat embossing to help create your own shaker elements for a shaker card.

To start off, I die cut a piece of gold cardstock using the Rectangle Infinity dies . Since my cardstock was only gold on one side, and I didn’t want my shaker elements to show that white background when flipped, I heat embossed the back of the cardstock with Gold embossing powder . I let the panel cool down a bit before die cutting, and then die cut it using the super fun Party Confetti die . Seriously, this die is SO perfect for celebration cards!

I then heat embossed a panel of black cardstock with Black Sparkle embossing powder . Once it had cooled down, I loaded some anti-static powder on it, and then heat embossed my sentiment and images from the Happy New Year Stamp and Cut set . I topped the fireworks off with some gems , and it was time to shake things up! (hee, sorry, couldn’t resist ;))

I used the frame left over from the gold panel I cut to create the shaker elements to contain my shaker elements, and adhered it down, with the confetti inside, using some dimensional adhesive.
