Winter Scenery Card

Hello friends! We have Season of Wonder inspiration for you today, as well as some Creative Team news. An exciting professional opportunity has come Clare Prezzia's way, and we couldn't be happier for her! That said, Clare will be stepping down from the Hero Arts Creative Team. Clare, we will always be grateful for the opportunity to work with you and to be able to share your beautiful work with our blog readers the past several years. Not to mention -- the gorgeous catalog samples, special projects, and more! We wish you the very best in your future and thank you for the time you've spent with us.

And now we'll turn it over to Clare, who's sharing a lovely card, featuring a new stamp set that she illustrated for Hero Arts!

One of my favorite kind of cards to make is a card with a scene, so I thought it'd be fitting for my last blog post here to share just such a card.

For today's card, I used a stamp set from the new Season of Wonder catalog, Ski Holiday. I started by blending a light background with Soft Lilac, and then heat embossing a sentiment from the stamp set in white. I then covered the entire background with Sparkle embossing powder.

Then I stamped the hills in Charcoal, colored the bottom portion in a light blue wash, trimmed them out and adhered them to the background. The little skiers were stamped in Soft Granite.

I then die-cut a couple rows of trees, using the Snowy Drifts Fancy dies and some dark Sea Layering paper. I adhered these down and topped it off with a handcut "slope".

I finished the card off by die-cutting a large oval out of a white panel, and then adhered it to the card base. If you wanted to, you could add some of the new sequins to create a cool shaker card!

Thanks so much for stopping in and God bless!

Terrie D.,

I love this card! It’s simple but very refreshing to look at. I’ve never seen a card before with skiers, very original.

Karen Nelson,

That’s super cool! :)

It can be something as simple as a pocket or something more intricate like a waterfall mechanism or flips. Today, we are going to focus on one of those simple techniques - a pocket!  It’s the perfect technique to dip your toes into the interactive...
