Coccoina Adhesives History and Inspiration

Looking for new adhesives to add to your craft collection? This month, Spellbinders is releasing Coccoina Adhesives to the store! The Italian Coccoina Adhesive Paste 125g Tin Can with Brush (603) and Coccoina Glue Stick 10g (641) are wonderful additions to your craft room. Use these adhesives to brush or roll-on glue to adhere cardstock, fabric, embellishments, and other crafting materials. These white adhesive pastes also include a unique almond fragrance similar to marzipan.

Coccoina Adhesives History and Inspiration

Coccoina glue had been manufactured in Northern Italy since the 1920s and had been unchanging since. With vintage styled packing, the products evoke nostalgia for Europe from the 40’s to the 60’s. Created by Aldo Balma and Andrea Capoduri, the Coccoina Adhesive Paste 125g Tin Can with Brush (603) became a favorite in the crafting world. Eventually, the product line expanded to include other sizes such as the Coccoina Glue Stick 10g (641). The adhesives are acid-free, solvent-free, non-toxic, and safe for children. Additionally, the adhesives dry quickly, remain smooth on paper, and are washable with water.

The adhesives are made from both potato starch and water and then cooked in a double boiler. Afterwards, glycerin and almond essence are added to produce the sweet marzipan aroma associated with Coccoina.

Does it dry with out leaving a sticky or shiny substance if you accidentally get some on the outside of project?

Jodie,

Is there By any chance Benzoyl Peroxide in this adhesive? I love ❤️ your cards though.

chrystalwycoff,

I recently used the Coccoina glue stick on a fabric collage project taught by Cathe Holden. I love this product.
