Hello crafty friends! My name is Suzanna Lee. I am absolutely thrilled to be a guest on the Spellbinders blog again, and today I am sharing a couple of layouts that feature Rosie's Studio – Hello It’s Me collection.
For this layout, I used a tall, skinny photo of myself with bits and pieces of the collection to document current bits and pieces of my life.
There is lots of layering and dimension in the loose grid thanks to the chipboard pieces, puffy stickers, and dimensional Butterfly stickers. I used an older metal die from the Flea Market Finds collection to create two different-sized envelopes that have bits of Diecut Cardstock Sentiments for journaling within them.
The layout is constructed upon one of the more subtle 12x12 patterned papers that has simple sentiments scattered throughout. This is then framed by the peachy colored grid paper to add to the grid look and ground the layout.
The use of layered ephemera with puffy stickers and a clear sticker from the sticker book ties the right-hand side of the page into the photo and covers some of that darker teal, thus lightening that dark contrast of my shirt.
For the next layout, I used six small photos. Of books! I really wanted to showcase the reading part of this collection and used it to document the books that I read in the month of February.
The topic of layout is readily identifiable thanks to rows of books that fill the header of the layout. This is pieced together with a strip of tone-on-tone black for contrast, and the lined paper with the typewriter at the bottom/left.
Three of the coordinating tags have been cut from the 12x12 piece of patterned paper and are anchored at the bottom of the page so as to be able to flip them out. Three of the books are on top of the tags while the other three as nestled on the patterned paper below, once the tags have been flipped out. As seen in the photo below.
The title of this page was created using the Glimmer Alphabet Hot Foil Plate & Die Set for the month, February, while I used a hole punch to punch the appropriate letters from the 12x12 piece of patterned paper with the typewriter keys on it. Each is popped up on a foam dot to add a fun dimension to the page. While no actual dies accompany this collection, there are many great options available, should you find you want more. However, there are so many wonderful embellishments as part of the collection, you really don’t need more!
