Punny Farmyard Trio

Hello there, Michelle Short here and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders blog using the On the Farm collection. This is such a fun collection that can be used for lots of different occasions. I love that each animal comes with a coordinating punny sentiment set!

THANK EWE

My first card uses the Counting Sheep Clear Stamp & Die Set, along with Perfect Touch Arches Etched Dies. These fun arch dies are great for using both the negative and positive of the die. For this card, I used the negative. PUNNY FARMYARD TRIO, SDS-200, S5-649, S3-432 To make this card:
  • Die-cut sheep from Snowdrift, Fog, Onyx, and Pink Sand Cardstock. Assemble and adhere using Bearly Art Glue. Adhere head to body with thin foam tape.
  • Die cut fence from Latte Cardstock, flower stem from Rainforest Cardstock, flower from Purple Mist Cardstock, flower center from Beeswax Cardstock, and bushes from Rainforest and Peridot Cardstock.
  • Die cut On Cloud Nine Etched Dies from Snowdrift Cardstock.
  • Die cut Perfect Touch Arches Etched Die into the center of 4.25” x 5.5” panel of white cardstock.
PUNNY FARMYARD TRIO, SDS-200, S5-649, S3-432
  • On an A2-sized card base, adhere a strip of Rainforest Cardstock at the bottom for the grass, adhere fence and bushes on top. Adhere clouds to sky.
  • Adhere arch aperture panel on top using thin foam tape.
  • Adhere sheep and flower using foam squares.
  • Stamp sentiment onto black cardstock using Versamark Ink, apply white embossing powder and heat set. Cut into strip and adhere to card with foam squares.
TOP TIP: Save the positive die cut piece of the arches die to use on another project. I keep them inside the pockets with my dies!

HOGS AND KISSES

My next card uses the adorable Ham It Up Clear Stamp & Die Set. I wanted to keep the card very clean and simple, so I simply created the illusion of a background with just a few die cut elements. PUNNY FARMYARD TRIO, SDS-200, SDS-199 To make this card:
  • Die cut pig from Pink Sand, Fruit Punch, and Onyx Cardstock. Assemble and adhere using Bearly Art Glue. Adhere head to body with thin foam tape.
  • Die cut background elements from Counting Sheep Clear Stamp & Die Set – cut fences from Latte Cardstock, bushes and flower stems from Peridot Cardstock, flowers from Purple Mist and Lilac Blossom Cardstock, and flower centers from Beeswax Cardstock.
PUNNY FARMYARD TRIO, SDS-200, SDS-199

COW’S IT GOING?

For my last project, I’m using the Hay There Clear Stamp & Die Set, as well as the Landscape Edges Etched Dies, and the Perfect Touch Arches Etched Dies. This time, I am using the positive of the arch shape. PUNNY FARMYARD TRIO, S4-1408, SDS-201, S5-649 To make the card:
  • Die-cut cow from Snowdrift, Onyx, Bearly Peach, and Pink Sand Cardstock. Assemble and adhere using Bearly Art Glue. Adhere head to body with thin foam tape.
  • Die cut flower from Purple Mist Cardstock, flower center from Beeswax Cardstock, and stem from Peridot Cardstock.
  • Die cut Rain or Shine sun from Beeswax Cardstock, as well as a lighter shade of yellow cardstock. Adhere together.
  • Die cut the second largest Perfect Touch Arches Etched Die from Snowdrift Cardstock three times, as well as Rainforest Cardstock, once.
PUNNY FARMYARD TRIO, S4-1408, SDS-201, S5-649
  • Die cut Rainforest piece at the bottom using the Landscape Edges grass die.
  • Die cut Snowdrift piece at the top using Landscape Edges cloud die.
  • Adhere grass and clouds to Snowdrift panel, popping the sun behind the clouds.
  • Stamp sentiment above grass using Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink Pad.
  • Score the other Snowdrift panel at the top to create a hinge. Adhere to the back of the front panel to create arch shaped card base.
  • Adhere cow on top using foam squares. Pop flower stem in cow’s mouth and adhere with thin foam tape behind flower.
TOP TIP: I decided to go with a clean and simple look for my cards today, but I think they would look great adding in some blue for the sky too. You could do this with ink blending or simply with a panel of blue cardstock. I hope you have enjoyed seeing my projects today and I have inspired you to have fun with the On the Farm collection. I love those punny sentiments! Thank you so much for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful day!
