Retro Christmas Cards with Laurie Willison

Hello crafty friends! It’s Laurie Willison here today with some retro-style cards using the new Joyful Christmas Collection from Simon Hurley and Spellbinders.  These new dies and hot plates are so much fun to work with and are sure to add some serious shine to your cards.

Geo Snowflakes Merry Christmas Card

For my first card, I used the new Geo Snowflakes Hot Foil Plate to create the silver foiled background. I layered the card panel onto a piece of Red Glitter Foam Sheets for some extra sparkle and dimension.

Using the dies from the Floral Stag Die Set, I created a little bunch of poinsettias for the centerpiece of the card.

To finish it off, I added a red foiled “Merry Christmas” from the Joyful Christmas Sentiment set. Joyful Christmas Sentiment Set is a must-have!  I love how easy it is to foil several sentiments and cut them all out at once.

Candy Stripes Merry Christmas Card

The Candy Stripes Cover Plate is one of my favorites from this collection.  I love how easy it is to create a striped background. You can put 2 cover plate dies together and create a plaid background!

For today’s card, I went with the candy cane vibes in red on a pink card base.  To complete this card, I die cut the Stag from Floral Stag and a poinsettia and then finished it off with a Joyful Christmas sentiment.

Retro Ornaments Merry Christmas Card

Last but not least, I had to use that adorable Geo Snowflakes Hot Foil Plate one more time. I foiled it in Teal foil on a light teal card base. Love the retro and non-traditional color vibe of this card.

I hot foiled the Retro Ornaments in gold foil and then colored them in with alcohol markers and added a sentiment from Mix and Match Holiday Greetings.
