Today Creative Team member Ilina Crouse is going to share some fabulous “beyond the kit” ideas for a few of the add-ons. Take it away, Ilina...

Hi everyone, this is Ilina! Today I am sharing two cards using some of the My Monthly Hero add-on sets from this month. I couldn't resist using the It's Fiesta Time and Cinco de Meow sets for my cards.

For my first card I used both sets (the cacti are from Cinco de Meow). I stamped the images onto alcohol marker friendly white card stock using Intense Black ink and then colored with Copic markers and cut them out.

On a separate piece of Snow layering paper (3 3/4" x 5") I did some ink blending using Grape Juice, Orchid and Bubble Gum ink pads. Then sprinkled some White Iridescent Shimmer Spray and Pink Metallic Spray to create a starry scene.

I used this as background for my little scene. I cut out another panel from Snow layering paper measuring 4" x 5 1/4" and used a circle die to cut out a window. I stamped the sentiment on the bottom using Intense Black ink.

Using foam tape I adhered the ink blended background behind the window panel. I adhered the dog and cacti, added Purple Ombré sequins and adhered onto a Black folded notecard.

If you have a dog, you need a cat, too. So I made another card using one of the cat images from Cinco de Meow set. I stamped it on alcohol marker friendly white card stock using Intense Black ink, colored and cut it out and set it aside. To create the background, I cut a 3 3/4" x 5" piece of Snow layering paper and applied Ultra Pink ink directly to it until the color was even. While the ink was still wet, I stamped the Blanket Pattern Bold Prints using Versmark ink (the Versamark acted as bleach on the inked background).

I stamped the sentiment on a strip of Black layering paper using Versamark and embossed with Detail White embossing powder. I cut out a vellum circle and assembled my card. To finish it off I added few Champagne sequins.

We hope you enjoyed today’s projects! A reminder for all My Monthly Hero subscribers: You have the opportunity to add extra items, including add-ons, to your kit shipments with no additional shipping charges. Simply log in to your account and place your order by tomorrow (Thursday, April 5 at 11:59am PT) to take advantage of this offer.

Thanks so much for visiting. Happy stamping!
